For over 40 years, Emmy-award winning photographer and producer Art Howard has helped viewers experience life through images from 70 countries and all seven continents. A native North Carolinian, Art has followed researchers to the poles to better understand climate change, spent over 2 years at sea to bring the deep ocean stories alive, and worked for PBS documenting the excitement and challenges of citizen science around the world.
Art has seen the changes from film to tape to digital, realizing that no matter the format, stories are important. Hearing from scientists in their own words and exploring new ideas and technology from a first hand perspective are what matter to viewers. With over 100 awards for photography and production, Art continues to push for better ways to weave sights and sounds into wonderful viewer experiences.
