Nanoplastics have been found in every part of our cellular make-up, even in our brain cells! New research on this subject is studying how the breakdown of microplastics to nanoplastics could link to Alzheimer's. The more plastic is created, the more it ends up in our oceans and eventually into our bodies.

Deep sea creatures are subjected to extreme environments and in order to survive they must create different chemicals to counteract the environment. Sponges are found to be the most chemically active animals in the deep and those chemicals are being used to create medicine for diseases like cancer, Alzheimer's, and dementia. With all of the success these medicines have had, there is hope that cures lie in the depths below.
