Dr. Marie Strader received her B.Sc in Biology from the University of Oregon and her Ph.D. in Ecology Evolution and Behavior from the University of Texas at Austin. She then went on to be a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California Santa Barbara in Gretchen Hofmann’s lab. This summer she is starting a Research Assistant Professor position at Auburn University. Research in the Strader lab will focus on understanding how variation in early life-history traits interacts with the dynamic environments they exist in, particularly the ability of marine invertebrates to cope in a rapidly changing climate and mechanisms of organism responses to the environment. She has conducted coral spawning research on the Great Barrier Reef and at the Flower Garden Banks (FGB) and she is excited to continue her spawning work at FGB in her new position.
