Lauren Howe-Kerr is a third year PhD student in Dr. Adrienne Correa’s lab at Rice University. She received her B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Rice in 2017. She studies how dinoflagellate symbiont communities help corals respond to environmental stressors and the role of dinoflagellate viruses in coral health. She primarily works on French Polynesian coral reefs and has also been involved in ongoing coral microbial work at the Flower Garden Banks NMS. Her current projects are funded by Wagoner Foreign Study Scholarship and the Lewis and Clark Fund for Exploration and Research.
