Brooke Benson received her B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2017. She then went on to work as a lab manager for Dr. Sarah Davies at Boston University, continuing her work on the influence of thermal variation on coral growth and performance. This fall, she will begin her Ph.D. at the University of California, Davis with Dr. Rachael Bay, where she will study the population biology of tropical marine invertebrates in response to climate change. She formerly helped maintain endangered Gulf of Mexico corals as a member of the Davies Lab and is excited to study them in the field.
